📍 South London Scout Centre, Grange Lane, Dulwich, SE21 7LH
📅 20 July – 7 August 2026
👧 Suitable for children aged 5–13 years
We are delighted to return to the beautiful South London Scout Centre for our fourth year of woodland adventures and family camping.
Since 2023, Orokolo has been developing a unique family-friendly holiday camp model, where children enjoy exciting daytime activities while parents continue with their usual routines before joining us in the evenings for optional camping, shared meals and community around the campfire.
This summer we are thrilled to be partnering with Wild Things Camp, combining our shared love of nature, creativity, play and child-led exploration.
Set beside the ancient woodland of Sydenham Hill Woods, our summer programme offers children a chance to slow down, make friends, learn new skills, connect with nature and enjoy the freedom of outdoor play.
Each morning, children will join the Orokolo team for nature-based learning, outdoor adventures and woodland exploration.
We are delighted that on Tuesday and Friday mornings, experienced educators from the London Wildlife Trust will once again join us in Sydenham Hill Woods.
Children will explore one of London's most important urban nature reserves through hands-on activities, conservation learning and wildlife discovery. Previous years have included pond dipping, mammal tracking, natural art, den building and woodland ecology.
Activities by London Wildlife trust and Orokolo will include some or all of the following:
Nature observation and wildlife spotting
Forest School-inspired activities
Den building
Pond dipping
Bug hunting and mini-beast surveys
Tree and plant identification
Nature journalling
Woodland games and challenges
Conservation activities
Free play and child-led exploration
From 1pm–5pm, the Wild Things Camp team will take over with their signature blend of playful, joyful and creative outdoor experiences.
Expect:
Creative woodland games
Nature-inspired arts and crafts

Group challenges
Outdoor adventures

At Orokolo we believe that children thrive when they are given opportunities to play freely, explore nature, take manageable risks, create, imagine and build meaningful relationships with others.
Our goal is simple: to help children develop confidence, curiosity, resilience and a lifelong love of the natural world. We also believe that children flourish when they are part of a wider community, where friendships grow across ages, families connect, and everyone feels a sense of belonging. Through shared adventures, campfires, meals, creative projects and time spent outdoors together, we aim to nurture not only individual growth but also a strong and supportive community.
We look forward to welcoming both new and returning families for another unforgettable summer in the woods.
Or, if you want something a little more heartfelt and aligned with your vision:
Our goal is simple: to help children develop confidence, curiosity, resilience and a lifelong love of the natural world. At the same time, we hope to create something increasingly rare in modern life: a genuine community. A place where children build lasting friendships, parents get to know one another, skills and stories are shared, and families feel connected to both people and place. We believe that when children grow up feeling connected—to nature, to their community and to themselves—they are better equipped to care for the world around them.
