Programme Summary: 🍂 October at Orokolo Holiday Club 🍂 This October, we celebrate the changing seasons by exploring our roots and traditions. From Native American stories to ancient Celtic rituals and druid lore, we’ll connect with nature through herb gathering, fruit harvesting, music, song, and dance. 🌿 Nature Activities: Visit Bee Urban for an autumn pollinator celebration (with a taste of honey!) Explore the Kennington Nature Trail Nature journaling & bug hunting with a London Wildlife Trust trainee 🎨 Arts & Crafts: Explore masks, face and body decoration traditions TBC - Create our own face-painting designs with artist Kes Young (Heart in Art) – then see them brought to life! Orokolo Little Explorers continues in 2026-2027 - every Monday (TERM time ONLY) 9:30 - 12 @Lollardstreet Adventure Playground. Please register your little or home-schooled child here.Happy Autumn everybody! We are back to Lollard Street Adventure playground. We were warmly welcomed by the new General Manager - Faith. Welcome, Faith! We have big plans for this school year: !!!Updating and upgrading the garden!!! E.g. creating more raised beds and growing spots. Getting new tools and organising the tool shed. Bringing more beauty and more to life to our favourite Monday morning spot! Please help us spread the word: Since February 2024, we have been running a morning session for under 5's every Monday - during term time only, at Lollard Adventure Playground. This morning is designed to inspire those even younger, to love Nature and get closer to it - just like the bigger kids who come to Orokolo holiday clubs. So far we have enjoyed turning logs and looking for creepy crawlies, building fairy homes, playing with animal toys, feeding the birds and supplying them with wool and thread for their new nests, we planted some beans and we are planning to do a lot more: sawing more seeds, clearing up the garden, counting worms, birdwatching, and a lot more. Currently, we are reaping the fruit of our labour - literally: we have been feasting on fresh tomatoes and next time we will try our pumpkin. The hard work we put in the spring and the marvelous watering that the bigger kids did for us in the summer is paying off!
